How to Install Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System

Step 1: Start by applying four to five wraps around the two supplied 90 degrees quick connect fittings.

Step 2: Install one elbow onto the first stage filter housing cap

Step3: install the other elbow onto the third filter housing cap

Step 4: Locate the loose white tubing connected to the automatic shutoff valve and connect it to the quick connect on the third stage filter housing. Install the blue retainer clip.

Step 5: Remove the plastic wrapper from the first three filters located in their corresponding housing and Place the filters back in the proper housing, once the plastic is removed.

Step 6: Install stage 1 filters to the first cap located on the right if you are facing the system. Repeat with Stage two to the middle cap and stage 3 to the third last cap.

Step 7: Use the filter wrench provided to tighten stages 1, 2, 3.

Faucet installation

Step 1: Locate the spot on your countertop where you would like to install your faucet and make sure that the faucet will hang over the sink. Since this is a quartz countertop, the methods you apply to granite and other stone countertops are prone to cracking. When drilling into quartz or granite you must use a half-inch diamond-tipped hole saw drill bit. If you are drilling into wood, laminate or other non-stone countertops drill a pilot hole using a quarter-inch drill.

Step2: Switch to a half-inch drill bit and finish the hole.

Step 3: Locate your faucet and slide the base onto the threaded shaft then insert it into the drilled hole on the countertop.

Step 4: Next move under the sink and install the black rubber washer from that included in the hardware. 

Step 5: With the faucet slide the metal washer spring lock washer and tighten them all up with the provided nut. Use a 14-millimeter wrench to tighten. You may need to hold the top portion of the faucet so that it does not turn in place.

Step6: Locate the spot on your drain plumbing to which you would like to install your drain saddle and put a mark. This should be installed above the drain trap vertically or horizontally on the drain line.

tep 7: Using a quarter-inch drill bit, drill the section you marked 

Step 8: Locate the foam pad included with the saddle and peel out the center 

Step9: Peel off the adhesive tape on the backside of the square foam piece and locate the half of your drain saddle with the quick fittings attached to it.

Step 10: Apply the foam square to the inside making sure that the holes are aligned. On the second half of your drain saddle press, the two nuts provided into the cut-outs sections until they are secure

Step 11: Using a small screwdriver or drill bit slide it through the quick-connect fitting on the drain saddle half and also through the hole you drilled in your drain pipe. This will keep the two holes aligned as finish the installation of your drain saddle. 

Step 12: Align the second half of the drain saddle and use the screws provided to fasten the saddle in place. Be sure not to over tighten and that the drain saddle secure before removing the screwdriver or drill bit.  

Step 13: Locate the valve on your cold water line and turn it to the off position and then open the faucet to allow any water in the line to be drained. This will help minimize any water spilling during the next steps. 

Step 14: Have a bucket and a towel under the cold water valve and using an adjustable ended wrench, loosen the nut for your cold water line. Some excess water trapped in the line may leak out when you loosen fully.

Step 15: Apply three to four wraps of Teflon tape to the threads of your cold water line. Also apply three to four wraps of Teflon tape to the water feed adapter.

Step 16: Install the water feet adapter to the cold water valve using a wrench.

Step 17: Reinstall the cold water hose back on the water feet adapter and tighten the wrench. Attach the two housing clips directly onto the fifth stage carbon post filter.

Step 18: Wrap the two 90- degree quick-connect elbows with Teflon tape. 

Step 19: Install the two elbows to both ends of the alkaline filter and place the alkaline filter onto the clips previously installed. 

Step 20: Using the whites pipes provided install one end onto the fifth stage post-filter.

Step 21: Measure the distance between the post-filter and the alkaline filter and then cut the white tubing accordingly. Insert the other end of the white tubing into the alkaline filter and install retainer clips. Attach the two filter housing clips on top of the alkaline filter.

Step 22: Wrap the two 90-degree quick-connect elbows with Teflon tape.

Step 23: Install both elbows to both ends of the UV filter housing. Attach the UV filter housing to the previously installed clips. 

Step 24: Locate the glass tube and insert it into the UV housing. Slide the rubber o-ring down the glass tube so that it’s roughly a quarter inch from the housing thread. Install the metal cap.

Step 25: Connect the UV bulb to the power supply.

Step 26: Insert the UV bulb into the UV filter housing and Slide the black rubber cap onto the filter housing cap to secure it in place. Insert one end of the white tubing to the right side of the alkaline filter 

Step 27: Measure tubing to the quick-connect fitting on the UV filter, Cut accordingly and insert tubing onto both ends. Connect the blue tubing to the other side of the UV filter 

Step 28: Locate the included blue tubing and remaining faucet hardware. Slide the cap nut with the hole in the center down the blue tubing so that the threads are facing the tubing end. Slide the white plastic circular bead-shaped down the blue tubing

Step 29: Locate the white plastic plug and insert it into the end of the blue tubing. Insert the tubing into the base of the faucet then secure it by tightening the nut on the blue tubing 

Step 30: Connect the opposing end of the blue tubing to the 90 degrees quick connect fitting on the left side of the 5 post-filter and install the blue retainer clip. 

Step 31: Locate and install one end of the red tubing into the 90-degree elbow on the first stage filter housing and install the retainer clip. If your system has a pump the fitting will be located on the front of the first stage filter housing.

Step 32: Insert the other end of the red tubing into the feed water adapter. Locate and install the yellow tubing onto the T fitting located on the fifth stage post carbon filter.

Step 33: Apply 3-4 wraps of Teflon tape to the top threads of your storage tank. 

Step34: Install the tank ball valve to the top of the tank. Unthread the cap from the tank ball valve and slide it down the end of the yellow tubing. Slide yellow tubing into the tank ball valve then hand tighten the cap onto the cap.

Step35: Locate the flow of the restrictor found on the top of the system behind the membrane and install one end of the black tubing in its quick-connect fitting and install the retainer clip.

Step36: Install the other end of the black tubing to your drain saddle. Now that the system is installed it must be flushed before it is ready to produce drinking water. 

Step 37: Close the taint ball valve so that the handle is perpendicular to the yellow tubing. Slowly turn on the cold water line and check for leaks. Slowly open the feed water adapter.

Step38: Check for leaks. If no leaks are found completely open if you see any leaks. If there are no leaks, then the system is not complete. If there are leaks turn off the cold water line and locate the leak. If it’s coming from a fitting, remove the fitting and reapply the Teflon tape and install it back onto the system.
