There are several different types of shower filters available on the market, including:
- Carbon filters: Carbon filters are the most common type of shower filter. They use activated carbon to remove chlorine and other contaminants from the water.
- KDF filters: KDF filters use a mixture of copper and zinc to remove chlorine and other contaminants from the water.
- Ceramic filters: Ceramic filters use tiny ceramic beads to remove contaminants from the water.
- Vitamin C filters: Vitamin C filters use ascorbic acid (vitamin C) to remove chlorine and other contaminants from the water.
- Far-infrared filters: Far-infrared filters use far-infrared technology to remove contaminants from the water.
- Polymer filters: Polymer filters use a blend of polymers to remove contaminants from the water.
- Reverse osmosis filters: Reverse osmosis filters use a semipermeable membrane to remove contaminants from the water.
There are four different types of shower filters. The first type is the granular filter which is made up of activated charcoal and removes chemicals and heavy metals from your water.
The second type is a cartridge filter which removes anything that the granular filter misses and also makes the water smell better by adding chlorine-resistant odor removers.
The third type of shower filter is a carbon block one, this one removes chlorine and bad taste from the water as well as any bacteria that may be in it. Lastly, there’s the salt-based filter which uses salt to remove minerals from your water, making it softer to use on your skin.
These filters can be used with both hot and cold showers depending on the model you purchase.
Only catalytic carbon will do the trick.
